The Lowdown

The NordicTrack brand oozes commercial quality and cutting-edge technology and finding a NordicTrack treadmill under the £1000 mark doesn’t happen often. But we found one! So whilst the T6.5S was on offer, we thought we’d look to see if it’s a steal at under £900.

First Impressions

Like most NordicTrack products, this came and felt bulky and heavy (at 92kgs). It has a stylish black design and folds away too, so you don’t have to worry about exercising in your favourite room. The T6.5S has a clear and intuitive display and when running on the large tread belt, feels really bouncy and cushioned, great for a comfortable run and to look after your joints!

It also has some nice features that others in the T Series don’t have, like pulse sensors and 20 workout apps integrated (which isn’t like NordicTrack as they like you to only use iFit!).

All in all, it has made a really good first impression and can’t wait to test it out more…

NordicTrack T6.5S Treadmill Review

Set-Up:

Getting this treadmill up and running was relatively straightforward and took me about 2 hours. I did have help carrying it into the room as it was quite heavy and also needed a hand when fitting the easy lift latch.

The majority of it does come assembled, it’s just the sections that go into the base, handlebars and console deck that needs putting together.

I did have my toolbox out and did need a wrench and a screwdriver- also glad I found a couple of spare Allen keys to make sure everything was tightened properly.

The NordicTrack T6.5S does need to be plugged in, so bear that in mind when setting it up.

When all is put up, this NordicTrack treadmill measures L185 x W91 x H138cm. And don’t forget to register the product within 28 days to make sure the warranty is valid.

Performance:

There is some power to this treadmill, and whether you’re an avid runner, or just beginning your fitness journey, you’ll find something to challenge you on this T6.5S.

Let’s start with the motor- it’s 2.6 CHP, and can get you running up to speeds of 16 km/h. It’s all easily controlled at the touch of a button, so changing your speeds mid-workout is no problem!

If you’re really up for a challenge, you can change the incline levels (up to 10%) which means you can climb those hills and really put some pressure on those other muscles you don’t use with flat running.

On the LCD display, you can see all key workout metrics like calories, speed, distance etc, and a personal favourite of mine is the 20 workout option- so if you’re looking for variety, you’re not committed to buying into iFit after the free trial ends.

I would say that the LCD screen could be a bit clearer, and when you look at the difference between the T6.5Si model and its 10-inch touch-screen, you might be disappointed! But saying that, there’s a bigger price tag on that, and as they say, you get what you pay for!

There are also pulse sensors on the handlebars, so if you want to push yourself then heart rate training is an option, too.

Features:

This NordicTrack treadmill has a good size tread belt (51 x 140cm) that is cushioned and reduces impact which means it’s kinder to those knees and joints. The motor is powerful, but quiet and has reduced vibrations so you won’t be disturbing anyone with those early morning workouts.

It also prides itself on the Easy Assist space-saver design, which I must say, works very well (although was a bit of a pain putting together!).

Final thoughts on the NordicTrack T6.5S Treadmill

Like all NordicTrack treadmills, the T6.5S feels a bit special. It’s a comfortable and challenging workout, has a variety of integrated programmes and you can fold it away and forget about it when you’re finished! Sounds great.

At the time of reviewing, this NordicTrack T6.5S was on offer at £899, which I think is a fair price, but if I was paying the RRP, I think I’d be tempted to pay a little extra for the model up (T6.5Si) and have the fab 10-inch screen!
