The Lowdown

The JTX Sprint 9 is pretty special- as I’m sure you’ve read, it’s a semi-commercial grade quality- but what does that mean? Basically, this is a treadmill you’ll find in the gym.

It certainly has all the bells and whistles, with 22 kph max running speed, 15% incline, SMART connectivity to training apps and 42 built in programmes. And the 4HP motor, which gives it the commercial badge.

One thing about this grade of treadmill is that it’s a very heavy piece of equipment (nearly 20 stone) and doesn’t fold, so whilst it’s a super choice for all running levels and fitness fans, its structure and fixed presence might not be for everyone!

JTX Sprint-8 Pro: Smart Treadmill Review

First Impressions:

If you are a keen runner and have space (and a £1,500 budget) this is an easy choice to make. The steel frame, although heavy, is very robust and with the SMART features, wide range of incline and speeds and a variety of programmes, you’ll never get bored. With the 4HP motor, you can go full on sprint, and with the frame structure, the treadmill doesn’t move one bit.

The run is comfortable and with shock absorption, kinder to joints, and the running deck is wide. There are also some nice touches like the bottle and ipad holder and built-in speakers with BlueTooth connectivity.

The JTX-Sprint 9 Pro is exactly like a gym treadmill, and will grow with you as your fitness and running improves.

Set up:

The JTX Sprint 9 Pro is relatively easy to put together- you will need to take your time and read the instructions. There is also an assembly video on JTX Fitness which is a handy guide too.

The biggest thing to mention is that the fact this treadmill is super sturdy means it is very heavy. The box measured in at W88 x L226 x H38cm and weighed a massive 138kg (which is 21.7 stone), so you will need to set this up in the room you’re planning to use it in. And also get some hands to help you carry the box and support with moving the pieces into place.

When fully assembled, the Sprint 9 Pro is W82 x L185 x H154cm and although it has transportation wheels, is still very difficult to manovere around. It weighs 125 kg (19.7 stone) unboxed and maximum user weight is 150kg (23.6 stone).

Don’t forget you need a plug socket close by, and also a new thing JTX Fitness are measuring now is energy consumption, and it’s predicted that 1 hour of use will cost about £1 on your electric bill.

Pros

  • 20kph fast max speed
  • Zwift and Kinomap app
  • 6 Point Cushion Deck
  • 36 programs

Cons

  • Heavy to move

Build quality

JTX Sprint 9 Pro is very well built, especially when compared to other treadmills in the price range that we’ve reviewed. The semi-commercial frame is robust and heavy, and doesn’t move when in use.

The running belt is wide (152 x 55cm) and has CushionStep technology which means it’s kinder to your joints and lower impact when running on it.

The panel to review console feedback is big and you can track time, pulse, speed, incline, distance and calories burnt. There isn’t any built in screen- that would be above where there is an Ipad/tablet holder. It’s sturdy and doesn’t shake when in use.

There is also a bottle holder and built-in speakers that connect to BlueTooth, so you can stay motivated by listening to your favorite tunes when exercising!

Performance

Being labelled as semi-commercial, perhaps the most important thing to talk about here is performance. Are you getting a good workout from the JTX Sprint Pro 9?
The running speeds are some of the highest we’ve seen in an at-home treadmill at 22 kph- so it is great whether you’ve a keen sprinter or a light jogger looking to improve. The 4 HP brushless motor gives the machine the power it needs, and whilst it might put a few more £££’s on the electricity bill, you’ll be able to max your power and challenge your limits with this machine.

There is a 15% incline option that changes at the touch of a button, and it’s worth mentioning that everything on this machine is digital, so if you want to change settings mid-workout, it’s a breeze.

There are 42 programmes built into this machine that range from heat rate training to body fat, and you can even create some custom ones for yourself too.

The BlueTooth connectivity also gives you the option to connect to training apps like Zwift and Kinomap- so you will never get bored of the Sprint 9 Pro!

Things we really liked:

  • Wide and cushioned running area.
  • Good quality built-in speakers.
  • 3 year in-home warranty for peace of mind.

Final thoughts on the JTX Sprint-9 Pro: Smart Gym Treadmill

The JTX Fitness Sprint 9 Pro is a superb piece of equipment, and a treadmill we would recommend to anyone who had unlimited space and budget! It won’t be for everyone, but with its internal composition to aid performance and the little added extras, it’s a treadmill that can grow with you as your fitness improves.

It’s heavy, yes, but that makes it even more robust and gym-like!

And, as always, JTX Fitness offer great customer service and a 3 Year in-home warranty, PLUS a 28 day money back guarantee, so you’ve always got peace of mind if things don’t go to plan.
