First Impressions

The Opti Motorised Walking Treadmill is a convenient and reliable exercise machine.

With a comfortably large running surface, a good variety of programmes and adjustable controls, and an informative display console, this model has everything you need from a home treadmill.

As the name indicates it does not go up to running speeds, and therefore is not intended for athletes. Instead, this treadmill provides a more moderate workout experience, perfect for physical therapy, for those new to exercise, or simply for stretching your legs when it’s raining outside.

Conveniently, you can fold this treadmill up when it’s not in use, so it’s a great fit even for small spaces.

Even better, the Opti Motorised Walking Treadmill is among the most affordable treadmills out there, saving you not just space but also money – while getting you into shape.

Detailed review of the Opti Motorised Walking Treadmill

Performance

The Opti Motorised Walking Treadmill offers a specific service: A moderate workout from the safety and comfort of your home.

This treadmill can’t provide you with strenuous exercise, but what it does do, it does well.

Firstly, despite its lightweight and relatively small frame, it’s surprisingly sturdy and solid.

This is especially helpful for elderly users or those who use this treadmill for physical therapy and require a stable and secure walking surface.

Additionally, the conveyor mechanism is very smooth, providing a perfectly uniform speed. And while it doesn’t go up to running speeds, there is still an auto-stop safety mechanism included to eliminate any risk.

Display, Programmes, and Settings

For such an affordable and lightweight home treadmill, the Opti Motorised Walking Treadmill has all the essentials you will find in larger, pricier models.

It comes fitted with a large LCD display console, giving you both live feedback data and control over your workout. Feedback information includes run time, distance covered, speed, and calories burned.

Also, through the display console, 15 different pre-set programmes are available. These programmes each have different speed and distance settings, so you can simply pull up your favourite programme and start exercising.

Besides these pre-set programmes, you can also adjust your speed and distance manually, for a personalised workout. For more of a challenge, this treadmill can be manually set into two incline positions.

Build Quality

This is a very lightweight treadmill, weighing a mere 30kg. As such, it is very easy to set up and move around.

For further transportation ease, this treadmill is fitted with a set of wheels. Additionally, this is a folding treadmill, so it doesn’t take up much space either. When folded, it only measures H124 x W66 x D58cm – not much bulkier than a full coat hanger!

Given all this, you might expect this treadmill to be wobbly or flimsy.

However, it’s actually very stable and robust. It can handle up to 110kg (17stone), and customers have commented favourably on how steady and secure it feels.

Pros

  • 15 fixed exercise programmes.
  • Adjustable speed, up to 6kph (brisk walking speed).
  • Two manually-set incline positions, for an added challenge.
  • Large LCD display console, showing run time, speed, distance travelled, and calories burned.
  • Lightweight (30kg) yet sturdy and solid, can handle up to 110kg.
  • Comfortably large running surface (102 x 40cm).
  • Folds for easy storage, with wheels for even easier transportation.
  • 1 year manufacturer’s guarantee.

Cons

  • Doesn’t go up to running speeds. However, as a walking treadmill, it’s not intended to.
  • Doesn’t offer as many programmes and added features as pricier alternatives.

Opti Motorised Walking Treadmill Vs the Dynamax RunningPad Folding Treadmill?

A similar treadmill we’ve reviewed on our website is the Dynamax RunningPad Folding Treadmill. Both are lightweight, folding, home treadmills, that provide a moderate exercise at a relatively relaxed pace.

The Dynamax is about twice as pricy as the Opti, and as such, it has a few advantages. Firstly, it goes up to 9kph vs the 6kph of the Opti, meaning you can actually run on it (just not very fast). Additionally, it has twice as many pre-set programmes, with even more options available through a designated app. Finally, it has a very nifty speed control system, where you adjust your speed by changing your position on the running deck.

That said, the Opti Motorised Walking Treadmill is not without its trump cards too. For one thing, its display console is larger, more elaborate, and much more conveniently located (between the handlebars, as opposed to by your feet). Additionally, unlike the Dynamax (and many other models at this price range) it can be set at an incline.

And of course, this Opti treadmill is just so much cheaper. In terms of performance they both offer a very similar deal, so if you’re shopping on a budget you can safely go for the Opti treadmill, without compromising on the quality of your workout.

Final thoughts on the Opti Motorised Walking Treadmill

Reliable, easy to use, and very budget-friendly, the Opti Motorised Walking Treadmill is an excellent exercise machine for those who want to add some physical activity to their lives, without breaking the bank or taking up much room in their home.

It has no bells and whistles – what you see is what you get. If you’re looking for a treadmill similar to those typically found in gyms, this isn’t it.

But, if a relaxed workout from the comfort of your home, on a space-saving treadmill, at a very reasonable price is what you’re after, then this treadmill is definitely the one for you, and we, like many other customers, give it a big thumbs up!
