Overview of the ZJET 460

This Reebok treadmill is a little bit special. It has all the features you’d expect from Reebok, with an extensive range of programmes, inclines, console feedback and loads more. But this has built-in Bluetooth which connects to the Reebok Fitness App so you can track your progress and keep on top of your fitness goals.

Maybe a little bit indulgent, but if you’re stuck in the house in lockdown, we definitely think you’re allowed to treat yourself!

Delivery and Setup

It is a lot heavier than other models, weighing in at around 79kgs. This can definitely be a drawback, but it does mean it feels and looks very stable, although moving it can be a bit tricky because it’s on the bulkier side. It is also self- assembly, which can put people off, especially as it is pretty heavy.

However, the instructions were clear and came with all the necessary tools making it relatively straightforward to put together so that was good. Also, while it does come with wheels to help move it, I would recommend getting someone else to help. It can be folded meaning that it doesn’t have to take up too much space when not being used which is always a benefit.

Pros

  • 15 various levels of incline
  • Up to 31 user programmes
  • Built in speakers with Bluetooth connectivity
  • LCD display with workout feedback
  • Good quality, strong materials

Cons

  • Weight 79kg so a heavy machine
  • Lower Max weight at 120 kg
  • Self-assembly
  • More expensive than some other models

Initial cost

Definitely not the cheapest treadmill on the market, currently coming in at just under £849, however maybe discount codes etc would obviously help lower this price. While it is more on the expensive side this does mean the materials are of good quality and the machine overall looked and felt strong.

This means it should last a long time making it more of an investment than a cheap model. As the old saying goes, buy cheap and you buy twice. If you are looking for a longer-term, reliable piece of kit, then it might be worth investing in a more expensive model. If you are looking to use it on a more casual basis, then you might want to save yourself the money and look at a cheaper model.

Speed and motor:

One really good thing about this treadmill is how high the top speed is. At 20km it is one of the higher top speeds for treadmills. This means if you’re an experienced runner who likes to go as fast as possible, or if you’re doing something like sprint training or just working on your pace, this treadmill can keep up with you.

The motors’ output is a lot higher than most models with it’s max 2.5hp at peak output. This allows more flexibility in your workouts and something I particularly look for in a treadmill.

Speakers:

A very useful feature about this treadmill is the built-in speakers. These are becoming more and more common, but what sets the Reebok 460 apart is that it has Bluetooth connectivity.

This is such a useful feature as no matter what type of music device you have you can connect it to the machine. Music while running can be really important to a lot of people, and I’m no different. Music motivates me and keeps me focused as sometimes if I’m running without it, I can get a little bored and demotivated.

So, this machine having music that’s easily accessible without the hassle of setting up a speaker system or dealing with headphones, was definitely a bonus for me. I was able to stay pumped up for my workout but with very little hassle on my part.

The Built in Programs:

This treadmill comes with 31 different programmes, which are all easily found on the console.

The console is LCD display meaning it’s very easy to see and use, as well having access to a very wide selection of programmes. The programmes range from things like target time, to body fat and even to speed interval.

I tried out a few and it felt really good to shake up my normal running routine especially as some programs meant I was focused on a specific area of running. As previously mentioned, I can find treadmill running a bit tedious at times, so mixing up my runs really improved this factor.

The programmes are great for beginners who may not know what area to focus on and so can find simple and affective programmes to help. While advanced runners can play around with their regular workout and just have a bit of fun with it like I did.

This is definitely a feature I enjoyed and will be incorporating more into my everyday runs so I can keep the workouts feeling fresh and enjoyable. I’m sure you won’t have any trouble finding a programme you enjoy, there are so many after all.

Console and App:

The LCD display is easy to use, plus buttons to change speed, incline or volume. The display gives you live workout data plus heart rate stats so you can see just how much you’ve got your heart pumping, which of course is the aim of running.

The console also comes with a holder at the top for your phone, which I liked as it meant my phone could stay upright and was easy to access while running.

Sometimes models don’t have anywhere to put your phone so it has to go in your pocket which can be annoying if you want to use it for music or anything else (I know a lot of beginners like to use the Couch to 5K running app), One really interesting bonus of this machine was the app.

This means if you download the app it can store all the info about your workouts. This is something I really enjoyed as it meant I could look back on my older runs and see my progress, personal best and just other data about my workouts. This is great especially if you’re training for something like a marathon or have a personal goal like running a 10k in certain time as you can easily track your progress.

Points to consider

There are of course some downsides. The initial cost is on the pricier side which I could understand would put a few people off. However, you get what you pay for, with good quality features, settings and build.

It is also quite bulky which does mean if you’re installing it or moving it on your own it can be a little tricky, which is a shame, and the self-assembly might put some people off. Even when folded, it can take up a fair bit of room, so if you are lacking in floor space, it might put you off.

Final thoughts on the Reebok Zjet 460

While it is more expensive compared to other models on the market, even other Reebok machines, there are so many benefits and good features that it’s well worth the investment. Plus, knowing its well-constructed and sturdy means it’s going to be a long-lasting treadmill, making the extra cost more worthwhile as you won’t have to replace it.

It does take time to set up, but the instructions are easy to follow and comes with all the tools required so it’s all straightforward. The high top-speed and the huge amount of running programmes makes this treadmill great for both beginners and seasoned runners.

For all the features and the high-quality materials it is worth the investment, plus the app was a lovely little bonus, making the Reebok ZJET 460 very beneficial to your workouts and cardio routines. Overall, it comes down to what kind of treadmill you are looking for. If you want a top range treadmill, with all the bells and whistles, then this might be the one for you.
