Reebok have yet again delivered with another great treadmill at a fraction of the price that you find from other manufacturers.

Delivery and setup

Delivery was acceptable with the machine turning up marginally later than planned but I did receive a text message that my delivery was on its way.

The drive and assistant kindly placed the running machine into my spare room. The box came packaged to a similar size to the last Reebok treadmill I reviewed at width 78cm, height 139cm and length 171cm. Again I DO NOT recommend collecting this item yourself unless there are two people and you have a large van. The weight of this item is a hefty 80kg’s.

Setup went without hitch, clear instructions were provided and it comes almost 90% assembled. Simply lift up the frame, bolt in the screws and remove the red safety cap to begin using your new machine.

Once the power was plugged in simple red LED lights and number displays came to life. I was a little let down with the Jet 100 not featuring an interactive screen such as the Reebok GT30 but as I know with other treadmills simple is usually better.

The buttons on this machine are big and bold, the style will not appeal to everyone but you can’t argue with the clarity of the buttons available.

I am a glasses wearer and although I can function without them it was nice to be able to change speeds and incline without any issues.

The machine comes with all the usual features you would expect from a modern treadmill, featuring a top speed of 16kph, 12 levels of incline, heart monitor and 24 changeable programmes.

The noise that is produced by the Jet 100 is low, it ranks very highly (higher is less noise) in our tests when compared to other often more expensive treadmills. The maximum speed is a little lower then top of the line treadmills but unless you are training to be the next Usain Bolt then you should be fine.

First Impressions and how easy is it to operate?

Within a few minutes of using the machine I was able to perform most generic requests, including select a pre-set speed, manually increase and decrease speed and incline. Even the pre-set programmes were simple enough to pick up and I was soon running on a 5k fat burn workout.

When reviewing this machine I find myself comparing it a lot to the Reebok GT30, they are very similar (both great choices) with only small features setting them apart.

Where the Jet 100 shines is with the features such as built in adjustable fan, great if you have limited access to opening doors or windows in your workout room. Reebok really have upped their game with this new model by including two drinks holders and built in speakers with USB via port.

The Reebok Jet 100 is also equipped with a number of safety features such as an auto stop safety function.

Like many high end gym treadmills, a red cord is attached to the front of the unit magnetically. This can be clipped onto your clothing and should the cord be pulled and magnet come away from the treadmill it will perform an emergency stop.

Once again Reebok have decided to include a heart rate monitor as standard in a more natural position, allowing you to hold the grips as you run to get an accurate reading.

Reebok Jet 100 cushioning system

Reebok have advertised their cushioning system as like running on air (unique air motion technology). I can’t say it’s that good, but you can’t fault that it does have a good feel to it as you run compared to other more expensive machines.

A more detailed look at the built in speakers allows you to plug in your mp3 player of choice and sound out the latest high-intensity music to keep you going. I have to admit I really like this feature, it allows me to easily listen to my music without having to use headphones and the constant movement of wires.

Like many compact treadmills this version does fold into an upright position for storage in the corner of the room or under your stairs.

  • Wheels on the base allow easy movement
  • Adjustable fan to cool you down as you run
  • Good guarantees (Lifetime warranty on the frame + 2 Years warranty on parts and labour + 10 year motor warranty)
  • Inbuilt MP3 player with USB port
  • Easy setup with simple instructions
  • Very quiet when in operation

  • Buttons as a little less pleasing than other Reebok modals (personal opinion)
  • Lacks a cutting edge LCD display screen
  • Its white, check out the GT30 if you prefer black (my personal opinion)

Final word

Reebok’s latest treadmill the Jet 100 really does make many improvements over other treadmills in the same budget category.

I love this treadmill and everything that it offers, I can’t spot any specific pitfalls that I need to comment on. I must add that this machine and the Reebok GT30 are very similar and both great choices, it just depends if you like a treadmill in black or white.
