First impressions of the JTX Sprint-7 Treadmill

Let’s get one thing clear right away, this motorised home treadmill is NOT for everybody. You only want to be investing in a treadmill like this one for your home gym if you’re a regular runner and in relatively good shape. If you’re a novice to home workouts, then consider looking around for something else. You can see other (cheaper) treadmills we have reviewed here.

Now that’s out of the way, let’s get to the good bit. This motorised home treadmill is one of those pieces of home gym equipment that takes the real thing (i.e., running) and makes it more effective.

The shock absorbing CushionStep deck can reduce the impact on your knees and joints by up to 30%, providing more comfort than ever before and making your workout more effective.

Besides that, there’s the easy-access speed and incline buttons that can be operated without looking down, a 7-inch monitor that’s actually usable at high speeds, and a smooth, quiet 2.5HP motor propelling you forward towards your fitness goals at up to 20km per hour.

If you’re already an athlete, this treadmill will push you further than you ever thought possible.

Detailed review of the JTX Fitness Sprint-7: Large Motorised Treadmill

Design:

In terms of the design of the JTX Sprint 7 Smart Motorised Treadmill, there really are few negatives. The foldable design works incredibly well, and I appreciate the transportation wheels considering the 85kg steel frame’s weight. That’s without mentioning the JTX Black-Diamond running belt, which is notoriously one of the best on the market, and it’s incorporated into the Sprint 7’s design too.

The running belt is so impressive because it has a life that is extended by around 50% compared to standard running belts, so you really can make the most out of this motorised home treadmill, thanks to its intuitive design.

The design also boasts built-in speakers to motivate you as you run, and although the dual water bottle holder isn’t suitable for large water bottles, they are still great to have so you can at least drink something as you’re working up a sweat.

The free tablet holder is appreciated, but unnecessary considering how cheap it feels compared to the rest of the design.

Personally, I’d prefer to attach my own tablet holder that feels a little less flimsy, but perhaps that’s just me. Overall, the design is second-to-none, and there are even more features we can talk about too!

The dimensions of this JTX treadmill are (W)84 x (L)180 x (H)159cm.

Comfort:

Every keen runner knows that the key to a good treadmill is the size of the deck. The more space you have to run, the more comfortable you are whilst running, without having to worry about a misstep. Well, the JTX Sprint 7 has a respectable deck of 145 cm x 51 cm, which is more than enough space for most runners.

The deck itself is also CushionStep, with 8-point rubber shock absorption to make your run even more comfortable. Thanks to the 2.5HP motor, the run is always smooth too, so you never have to deal with uncomfortable jarring or stuttering when transitioning between the 15 levels of incline either, which can be a problem with cheaper models.

Perhaps the most impressive part of this treadmill is the integration with Kinomap – an app you can purchase for your phone or tablet that will take you on a run anywhere in the world. And the best part? Your treadmill will adjust the incline and speed to match the route you’re looking at on your phone or tablet, making it feel as though you’re really there.

I’ve included this section in comfort, because I found my runs were much more comfortable when using the app integration because it truly felt like I was on an adventure, not just running in my home! A great motivator!

Performance

Because they designed the JTX Sprint 7 for athletes and regular runners, the performance of this motorised home treadmill is almost unbeatable. Seriously, you’d have to go to a high-end gym to find something to rival this, because few home gym treadmills could.

The main thing I love about this treadmill is the 15 levels of incline ranging from 0 to 12%, giving you a plethora of options to choose from to suit your fitness levels. Tailoring a workout to you is important if you want the best results, and JTX have clearly recognised that here.

There are also 43 personalised trainer designed programmes for you to choose from if you want a more guided workout, and all of them range in difficulty so you can keep a varied workout schedule. The harder the workout, the better the results, and this motorised treadmill allows you to push yourself further than ever.

Because there are so many trainer programmes available, you also get to vary your workout to challenge yourself more and more, so you and your new motorised treadmill can perform at the top of your respective games even as your fitness increases!

The 43 trainer designed programmes not working for you? No problem, you can create 4 personalised workouts, so you can create a workout that’s designed by you, for you, so you get the most out of this superior machine!

The other clever thing on the JTX Sprint-7 is the wireless heart rate training- another reason for the higher price tag. By using the pulse sensors on the handlebars, the computer can monitor your heart rate and adjust the resistance accordingly- helping you to hit those goals. You can also buy Polar chest straps which can also connect to the treadmill if you wanted to go nuts.

Features we really liked:

– Wireless heart rate training where the computer monitors your heart rate and adjusts resistance to make sure you’re working in the desired zones.

-Easily accessible safety key that can be activated quickly in the unlikely event that something goes wrong.

– Large, rubberised speed and incline buttons that are easy to press even as you’re running fast up large inclines, and without looking too.

– They incorporate a 2.5HP motor into the design for a truly smooth, stress-free workout that can still reach speeds of 20km per hour.

Pros

  • CushionStep 8-point shock absorbing deck (145x51cm)
  • Reliable 2.5HP motor that allows for a smooth run
  • Heavy steel frame for stability that creates a long-lasting piece of equipment
  • Foldable design and built-in wheels for easy storage and transportation
  • 0-12% incline over 15 different levels & 43 Programs, for a tailored workout
  • Compatible with Zwift
  • 3-year in-home warranty (parts and labour included).

Cons

  • A piece of home gym equipment that isn’t suitable for every home because it’s designed for athletes and regular runners. And Pricey.
  • The free tablet holder feels cheaper than the rest of the superior machine (but it is positioned well so as not to obstruct the monitor)
  • Dual water bottle holders are fairly narrow and not all that useful if you prefer lots to drink whilst working out
  • Max user weight of 130kg (just over 20 stone).

Final thoughts on the JTX Sprint 7 Smart Motorised Treadmill

A well thought out design, high-performing machine, and specs that would make most gym-level equipment jealous, the JTX Sprint 7 is a motorised treadmill that delivers time and time again.

Despite a few niggles here and there that I’ve already mentioned (the somewhat cheaper tablet holder, and the dual water bottle holders being a little on the thin side), I ultimately only have one issue with this machine, and that’s that it isn’t suitable for everybody.

For me, a piece of home gym equipment should be capable of taking you from zero to hero, but this piece of equipment sort of expects you to be somewhere around the almost-a-hero mark in terms of your fitness levels. Although, some might disagree with me (Just IMO!).

But with that being said, I can’t hide my love for the JTX Sprint 7 motorised home treadmill. If you’ve been running for a while and you’re in relatively good shape, then this treadmill is almost perfect and definitely worth a try.
