In our opinion this cross trainer sits in the sweet spot of price vs performance. It boasts a beautiful blue LCD screen, 32 levels of resistance and a full 15” stride length. We would advise this is a perfect choice if you are thinking of buying a cross trainer for the first time.

Delivery and setup
Delivery was prompt and I gave the delivery driver a hand with the box up my driveway. I would not recommend collecting this from a department store, it comes in a large box weighing just below 50kg’s.
Compared to recent running machine setups, building a cross trainer does require more time. From the box landing in my spare room to complete set up took around 2 hours. Some may complete this in half the time but making sure there are no rattles, squeaks or loose bolts I believe is worth the extra time.
Features
Once the power is turned on you are greeted with a nice bright sky blue LED screen. It really is beautiful to look at once again (I usually have to wear contact lenses to see small numbers) the main information is big, bold yet stylish.
The buttons to change the programs are located on a circular dial and although they do the job I have seen better layouts on other brands, this is only a small minor point may I add.
When using the GX50 the motion was very smooth and precise. It’s a difficult feeling to put into words but the reason for this was that this machine features a 9kg fly wheel. This basically means that unlike most budget cross trainers the wheel you are required to move has more weight and so gives you a much more control and a gym like feel.
When in operation the system is relatively quiet with a smooth action. Unlike a treadmill there are no motorised parts and so reduced noise levels are to be expected.
The no manual test – How easy is it to operate without instructions?
There were no issues with using the cross trainers various menus and settings without having to make reference to the manual. This could be partially due to my previous use of Reebok systems but all the buttons are self-explanatory.
The Reebok One GX50 boasts an impressive 23 different user programs that control the tension level (32 alternative levels) and overall difficulty. I wasn’t able to test all 23 different programs available, but the select few I did were able to target both the upper and lower body, as well as forward and backwards movement to work a whole range of muscle groups.
One of the best features of the Reebok One GX50 is the 15 inch stride length. I can’t stress how important this features is. Unlike a typical budget cross trainer, you will perform a longer fuller stride during your workout. This gives an almost gym like feel as you use the machine along with the benefit of a better overall body workout.
Finally included in this version are a second pair of fixed handle bars that have a pulse sensor to measure your heart rate as you work out. It would have been nice if they were included as part of the moving hand grips but now I am just being picky.

Final word
Once again Reebok have designed a great piece of gym equipment. If you would like an alternative workout to a traditional treadmill or need something that is less stressful on your joints then this is a great choice of machine. These models are often on sale and so if you see one grab it quick!
