First impressions of the Pro Fitness XT1000

The first thing to mention about this cross trainer is that it is incredibly easy to use. It has a 4kg flywheel and 13-inch stride length (33cm), so whether you’re looking to lose weight or just increase fitness, you won’t need to be a personal trainer to get started.

The XT1000 uses a magnetic resistance system, so it doesn’t need to be plugged and can be popped into any space, and with different levels to select, you can be sure to hit your own personal goals.

The 5-inch LCD display also shows your distance, calories, and time spent working out and there are hand grips that monitor your pulse too, for even more information as you work out.

Pro Fitness XT1000 Review

Features

Boasting hand grip pulse sensors to track your heart rate as you workout, this cross trainer really is great at giving you the overall picture about your health and fitness.

It also has a 5-inch LED display that will tell you your speed, distance, calories burned, time spent working out, heart rate, and temperature in real time as you move.

This sort of information is invaluable to you as you exercise because it can highlight some of the issues that might be holding you back from reaching your fitness goals.

Notice that your heart rate is quite low? Bump up a level on the machine and make yourself work a little harder. Is your pulse through the roof? Bring it down a level or two. The last thing you want to do is workout too hard or too little, and the Pro Fitness XT1000 can help you get there.

The magnetic resistance system has 8 level’s of tension control- which can be changed using the knob- turn right to increase or left to turn things down a little. So you can really push yourself on this Pro Fitness cross trainer.

Comfort

With a 330mm stride length (that’s roughly 13 inches) you won’t feel as though you are having to catch up with the machine.

It’ll really works with you, not against you. The 4kg Flywheel also helps with the comfort of the machine because it encourages you to move in quite a natural way. This will really help you to get the best results, without overstretching yourself or becoming uncomfortable.

There is a max user weight for this machine, but not a height restriction. We have known customers who are over 6ft use this machine comfortably with no issues.

Storage

This Cross Trainer weighs only 41kg and doesn’t need to be plugged in, so you could easily push it to the corner of a room for storage when not in use.

That being said, it isn’t really designed for dismantling and rebuilding constantly, so make sure you have the room for it.

Its dimensions are 1.62m x 0.68m x 1.25m though, which is really not too big at all and should fit comfortably in most people’s homes. Also, there are transportation wheels supplied if you did want to move it around.

Setup

Set up is relatively straightforward. There is some construction involved of course, as there is with any exercise equipment of this type.

But realistically, follow the instructions and work through them methodically and it shouldn’t take you more than a couple of hours to have it up and ready to use.

The main frame is already built, most of your work will be attaching the parts and fixings, which are all clearly labelled in the instructions for you to follow anyway.

The LCD display requires 2 AAA batteries, but they come included and should last you a fair while depending on usage. Once it’s actually up and running there’s little maintenance involved which is always welcome!

If you wanted to have a look before buying, you can see the complete set up in the assembly guide.

Cost vs Qaulity

When you’re investing in a new piece of home workout equipment, you want the best quality at the cheapest price possible.

You’re probably not looking for a gym level standard, just something that’ll work for you at home. Well, the Pro Fitness XT1000 certainly delivers there.

At around £300 it’s not too expensive at all and can suit most budgets. For that price though, you get a great piece of kit that will help you with toning, losing weight, and building muscle.

The manual also comes with recommendations on how to use the cross trainer and what workouts to try to hit your goals, which is a nice touch.

Final thoughts on the Pro Fitness XT1000 Cross Trainer

If you’re looking for a simple piece of kit to help you on your fitness journey, then we think the Pro Fitness XT1000 might be one to consider.

It’s easy to set up, the metrics that it tracks does so automatically without any input from you, and the machine itself is comfortable for you to use.

So long as you’re under the 120kg weight limit, then it’s suitable for most, no matter how tall you are.

It also doesn’t matter whether you are looking to exercise at home for the first time or you’re a regular fitness fanatic, the Pro Fitness XT1000 covers most requirements and the fact it’s low impact means it won’t impact your joints like other machines such as treadmills might. We all need to look after ourselves, after all!
