First Impressions of the Opti Magnetic Rowing Machine

I was delighted to be able to try the Opti Magnetic Rowing Machine. It provides a fantastic way to workout from your home, rather than needing to hit the gym.

With a great build and unique features including a display to monitor your performance, no matter your ability, this has something for everyone.

Particularly, if you want to increase the strength in your upper arms. It’s modestly priced too and won’t break the bank if you are building up your home gym. Perfect for toning and cardio exercise, this 8 level tension rowing machine can be used it lots of ways- and the best thing is you can tip it upright and store it away when it isn’t being used!

Delivery and setup

It’s worth noting that while there are only a few pieces to fit together, this machine can take a little while to set up. On the plus side, this means that it has a robust design and is well put together.

You also will be pleased to discover that you just need to switch the computer on to get it up and running.

There’s no need to dive too deep into the different settings, particularly if you’re just using it for a typical workout, but the basics are all available for feedback when needed- calories, time, stride etc.

Also, unlike some fixed home workout pieces, this equipment doesn’t cost anything to run- just some batteries for the monitor.

The Opti Magnetic Rowing Machine does have a fantastic design. This provides two key benefits. It is smooth and will remain quiet even when you are operating it.

So, you won’t need to worry about disturbing your neighbours. However, if you are quite aggressive with your movements, you might benefit from putting a mat underneath the device.

One of the key benefits of this item is that it is comfortable to use. That’s due to a padded seat that glides smoothly along the length of the machine. There is also room for some level of adjustment so it will be suitable for individuals of different heights and builds.

You are also provided with straps for the pedals. It’s a small feature, but it’s useful because it ensures that your feet are going to remain firmly in place. This is going to help guarantee that you get the best results from your workout. It is worth mentioning that the max user weight for this machine is advised at 15 stone 10 (100kgs).

Features of the Opti magnetic rowing machine

The Opti Magnetic Rowing Machine does provide a few different features that are worth exploring. First, you will want to check the tension controls. There are eight levels of tension here, so you will be able to build up your workout over time. It also ensures that it is suitable for those with different levels of skill.

The console itself provides a lot of interesting information including distance, calories, stride/time and total count. Again, this is going to ensure that you know exactly how well you are performing and whether you need to improve.

Cost vs Quality

You might be wondering whether this rowing machine is worth the cost. Compared to others on the market, you’ll find this device is a little cheaper.

However, don’t let the price fool you, you’re still getting a high-quality machine. Experienced rowers may want a machine that offers the full slide. However, for those simply looking to burn calories and workout, it offers a high level of value.

Additional features

The main feature this rowing machine offers that separates it from its competitors is the display system. With this, you will be able to access key details about your workout. It provides a clear display that you can easily view even when you are in the middle of a session. As such, you will always be able to keep track of your progress.

You might find that you need to reset the computer on occasion. However, quickly switching it off and on will get it working once more.

The no manual test – How easy is it to operate without instructions?

This has to be one of the shortest no manual reviews I have ever written. The setup is basic, you simply have to press one button, sit down and start rowing. There is nothing more to it.

  • Variable tension control allows you to easily adjust your workout
  • Displays provide information for time, distance and speed
  • Just one person required for assembly
  • Light enough to move where you need and store easily, and wheels to transport
  • Comfortable design for a longer workout routine.
  • Padded legs will not damage the floor

  • Can be tricky to put together even with instructions
  • The computer may be a little temperamental and needs to be reset on occasion.

Final word

Ultimately, you will find that this machine provides fantastic value. It glides smoothly in use, isn’t too noisy and the display monitor is a welcome addition. Due to the level of movement offered, it’s perhaps best suited for those looking for a new way to work out rather than those eager to perfect their rowing technique but it could make a great addition to any home gym.
