The Lowdown
The Pro Fitness EC2000 Elliptical Climber is one of the elliptical trainers to consider when you are looking for a budget elliptical climber that wont break the bank. It will also give you a varied workout as it is a stepper, cross trainer and climber all in one!
It features a 7kg flywheel and offers 8 levels of tension. The trainer looks sturdy and well-built. Yet, it is compact enough to fit comfortably in most homes.

First Impressions
Unlike many other elliptical climbers for home use, the EC2000 does not look large, it is a compact machine and a modern-looking piece of kit.
It is well-proportioned meaning it only takes up a little floor space. The transportation wheels are a bonus. You can easily square away the climber in a corner of a room.
The EC2000 isn’t mains powered, so you can stay on it without worrying about power usage- you just need some AAA batteries for the display panel.
The black colour with the red flywheel gives the climber a slightly jazzy appearance.
It measures H157cm x W71.5cm x L101cm which means it can be tucked away in a corner of a living space. Perfect for when you want to fit in a workout and catch up with your favourite TV shows.

Pro Fitness EC2000 Elliptical Climber Review
Set-Up
The Pro Fitness EC2000 Elliptical Climber is self-assembly and it has to be said, this is not a rush job.
If you are a newbie, you need to allow at least a couple of hours. Asking someone to help you would also be a good idea.
All of the tools you need including a wrench and two different size Allen keys are supplied. Bolts, washers and nuts are also included in the kit.
Before you attempt assembling the Pro Fitness EC2000 Elliptical Climber, it is a good idea to familiarise yourself with the assembly diagram. Another top tip is to lay all of the parts out. That makes the assembly easier.
Two AAA batteries are required but they are not included.
Performance
It is nice to see a modern contemporary design when it comes to home exercise equipment. Not everything needs to be functionally grey or black. The red splash of colour added to the flywheel gives the elliptical climber a modern appearance.
The EC2000 features a compact build but still manages to look solid and sturdy.
In the world of home exercise equipment and gear, Pro Fitness has a very good name as part of the Argos group. This is a well-established company with many years of experience.
The footplates are comfortable and the handles are located in the perfect positions to make them useful.
It is nice to see stabilisers have been added to the front and rear of the climber. The maximum user weight of 100kg (15 stone 10) is slightly low which is surprising for such a well-built climber. But testing it using the different resistance levels, with lighter and heavier people, the resistance levels were still effective.

The Workout Experience
The 7kg flywheel complete with electromagnetic resistance gives you a smooth workout. As both the flywheel and resistance part of the climber are encased, you can also enjoy a very quiet session.
The EC2000 has a stride length of 5.9 inches which gives you plenty of scope for leg movement and toning your legs.
The handles feel comfortable and flow easily with each movement.
The feedback data is easy to read. As you exercise, your speed, time, distance, pulse and calories are easy to read.
The pulse monitor is located on the handles which leaves you with nothing to worry about apart from checking your stats.
Any increase in tension is quickly fed through to the flywheel and is noticeable.
Overall the performance of the EC2000 is good. Unlike other home elliptical climbers, it does not feel jerky at all.
The movement is solid and flows well. The added stabilisers ensure the machine does not move or sway.
The climbing and stepper action offers you a chance to step up your workout. In many ways, if you like a multi-level workout, this is a great set-up to invest in.
By the end of your session, you feel that you have got something out of your workout without fighting against a machine. Overall, the performance the EC2000 offers turns your session into an enjoyable experience.

Final thoughts on the Pro Fitness EC2000 Elliptical Climber
The Pro Fitness EC2000 Elliptical Climber offers a great all-around aerobic workout. Unless you are very experienced, you have a hard time telling the difference between the EC2000 and an elliptical climber you find in a gym.
For the price, you certainly get excellent value for money. The climber is well-built and has a very solid frame. And with 3 different work out options, you won’t get bored!
Sure, you spend some time assembling the trainer. But, once assembled, you end up with a modern, compact piece of home exercise equipment that will keep delivering for many years.
Its 42kg overall weight means it is relatively lightweight to move around your home.
