Opti 2 in 1 Air Cross Trainer and Exercise Bike Review

First Impressions

When it comes to fitness equipment at home, versatility is always a benefit. This is why getting a set of weights is usually the first thing people do since they can be used in many different ways and provide a lot of value to your workouts.

But if you haven’t got time for the gym or want to achieve your fitness goals from home then you need the right equipment. When it comes to the Opti 2 in 1 Air Cross Trainer and Exercise Bike, you’re getting two different types of machines in a single package.

It’ll improve your cardiovascular fitness, promote good blood circulation and even increase your lung capacity. With so many benefits, it’s hard to pass up on a 2-in-1 machine, but is it really as good as it looks?

Initial cost

Incredibly affordable for a cross trainer and exercise bike combo machine. An essential piece of cardio equipment that saves you having to buy separate machines. At under ÂŁ100, this was the most competitively 2-in-1 priced machine we could find.

Delivery and Setup

The product itself weighs around 25.5kg and comes in a standard cardboard box, so it can be a bit of a pain to carry back to your car.

I wouldn’t even consider taking it on public transportation, so delivery is probably your best bet.

Setting it up wasn’t the most difficult thing, but I certainly suggest that you ask someone to help you out when it comes to setting up the machine. It can take a bit of time and you’ll need quite some space to lay out all the pieces and get everything in order before you put it together.

The manual is incredibly helpful here, so make sure you read through it thoroughly before you start trying to put it together.

The main frame piece comes assembled, but everything else is separate which means lots of different parts and screws to piece together. Even though it might take a little time and patience putting together, it is very sturdy. You can see the Opti 2 in 1 cross trainer and exercise bike instruction manual on this page as a PDF.

Main Features of the Opti 2 in 1

The Opti 2 in 1 Air Cross Trainer and Exercise Bike is a versatile machine that is a great addition to any gym room or area in your home. Since it can function as both an exercise bike and a cross trainer, it helps to vary the types of cardio workouts that you do.

This helps you tone different muscles, but also helps you avoid getting too comfortable with one workout. One of the rules of fitness is to always try and do different workouts so that your body never gets too comfortable with something.

While the cross trainer and exercise bike alone the best individual experiences (they can’t compare to high-quality dedicated machines and their features) it’s still a great-value option for the price and you’d be surprised at how handy it is to have such a versatile machine at your disposal.

It’s easy to switch between the modes and setting the resistance for each one is a breeze.

The LCD also works perfectly fine despite being a little outdated and shows enough information to help you vary your workouts (distance, speed, calories).

Overall, the Opti 2 in 1 Air Cross Trainer and Exercise Bike comes with just enough features to make it a perfectly usable exercise bike and cross trainer. However, don’t expect it to be the best experience ever since it’s difficult to compare to standalone machines.

Build Quality of the Opti 2 in 1

While the majority of the machine is built with plastic, I had no trouble using it on a regular basis during my tests. It was sturdy, it worked perfectly fine and I had no doubts that it would last a very long time into the future.

Pros

  • Very affordable 2-in-1 machine
  • Two machines for the price of one
  • Adjustable seat to make it comfortable for everyone
  • Adjustable handlebars
  • Free tension control
  • LCD offers a lot of display functions to keep track of your workouts
  • Transportation wheels to make it easy to move around
  • Only batteries needed

Cons

  • A bit noisy when in use
  • Handlebars can get loose after a long period of use
  • Seat not the most comfortable thing
  • Assembly can take a little while.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a great exercise bike or cross trainer, then you’ll probably want to look at dedicated machines for each exercise.

However, if you’re more constrained on price and space, then the Opti 2 in 1 Air Cross Trainer and Exercise Bike is arguably the only option available to you. While it’s not the most amazing individual experience, the fact you can seamlessly switch between a cross trainer and exercise bike is definitely the highlight of this affordable machine.

It’s also why I can recommend it just for the sake of saving space and having a versatile machine. Ideal for a great cardio workout at home!
