It has a magnetic control system with 8 tension levels which will give you a choice of resistance challenges. All the feedback that you’d want from a machine is included, so you can record your goals- time, distance, speed, calories and pulse and so on.
The only thing to note is the flywheel is on the lighter side compared to some folding models at 2.5kgs and it’s recommended for people with an inside leg measurement between 61-72cm. But if you’re looking for a sturdy piece of exercise equipment on a budget, this is worth consideration!

The Space Saver – Roger Black Gold Folding Magnetic Exercise Bike:
This bike has all the features of the standard Roger Black Folding one, but for a few more pounds, you get some nice extras.
First of all, the 3kg flywheel is quite heavy for a folding bike, and the magnetic system with 8 tension controls means you can have a more challenging workout. It also has some additional things to make your ride more comfortable, with a PU moulded saddle and a quick release knob so you can easily change the height (great if you’re sharing the machine!).
This Roger Black Gold bike folds down- so once you’ve finished exercise, can store away into the smallest of spaces. That, along with the fact this bike is sturdy and robust is why it’s a great choice if you need a good workout but don’t have masses of space.

This bike is for someone who has space to have a piece of workout equipment in their home (that can’t be folded away) and is looking for a more varied and challenging workout.
Before we get to the nitty gritty of working out- let’s talk about appearances. This machine looks good- it has an ipad, bottle holder, and a slick LCD display which allows you to clearly measure your workouts in style. It also has an adjustable seat and handlebar, so you’ll not only look cool, but you’ll be comfortable too!
We like this one. A lot! Whatever your level, this machine will allow you to reach your targets- whether it’s weight-loss or just cardio fitness you’re after. There are 12 user programmes, with selections including body fat, heart rate targets and other pre-set ones.
This Roger Black Gold exercise bike has a good 6kg flywheel magnetic resistance system, and 16 level tension control, so is a challenge even for the frequent cycler. The LCD display will let you know all the usual like pulse, calories, RPM, time, speed- so setting and analysing your training goals won’t be a problem!
This bike seems to have everything, and with few limitations, at under £200 could be a great addition to your home (if you have the space!).

The All rounder – Roger Black 2 in 1 Exercise bike and cross trainer:
Let’s not kid ourselves- exercise at home can be boring, but with this Roger Black 2 in 1, you get a cross trainer AND a bike, so you can really mix up those workouts and add a little variety.
Both exercises are low impact too, so even though you still burn calories and improve your cardio fitness, your joints won’t be impacted as much as other home workouts (like running).
There is a small display screen to track your calories, speed, time, distance and a hand grip sensor that will tell you your pulse- so whatever your goals, you can always keep on top of your progress.
The 6kg flywheel and 8 level tension control will also ensure a challenging workout, if that’s what you’re after. It is a manual resistance system not a magnetic one, which doesn’t matter too much, but can sometimes be a little noisier- so something to think about if you have fussy neighbours!
Also, one thing to mention is the pedals used for the cross trainer are the same for the bike, so might take some getting used to!
Overall, we are a big fan of this machine- with having the two machines you can mix things up with your workouts and save space too! Most customers manage to assemble this bike in 2 hours, so despite looking like a fiddly piece of equipment, you can be up and running (or cycling!) in no time at all. And at a good price too- what’s not to love?
