First Impressions

Upon unboxing the bike, the first impressions are that it’s very slick, well-made and pleasing to the eye (high-end ugly bikes aren’t as uncommon as you think). Sporting mainly a black and red colour scheme, so far so good.

Build quality:

The first point of note is the exceptional build quality of Echelon Sport-S, I know what you may be thinking, it’s got a high cost, so It’s to be expected. However, you can really see the details that have gone into making everything adjustable including the seat, handle bars and frame, so you get the perfect ride. 

There is no other way to put it other than it just feels rock solid. I typically use a much cheaper spin bike in my workout room, it rattles about a little while in use, and you can see every weld mark where the metal touches. Not here with the Echelon Sport S.

Monthly Subscription:

Included is 30 days free, however there are multiple subscription offers after this time if you want to take full advantage of all that is on offer. 

I would say that most people will fall into one of two buckets, those who like live instructors with set times and those who like to jump on when it’s convenient for them. You will be assured that both are covered when buying this bike.

As you would expect, the classes are excellent quality taken by professional instructors, although my preference is more the interactive videos that see you cycling through beautiful scenic routes where you adjust your difficulty as you progress through different stages. 

A design feature I especially like in this respect is that they have mounted the 10.5” screen above the handle bar docking station. This allows you to keep your phone in full view at the same time as being able to look at a second screen.

Value for money:

Typically, value for money isn’t a specific feature that we look at in reviews, the Sport-S is an exception. It’s around 35% cheaper than a Peloton, that’s some hefty saving. A point of note, I didn’t feel like I was getting anything less. From a hardware or software standpoint, Echelon have really nailed their target market with this one.

Even if you wanted to take a break from their subscription, it’s a great bike for the money. A super soft seat, great adjustment options, 7KG ultra smooth fly wheel and over 30 tensions levels make this bike a recommendation from beginner to advanced spin bike users.

Final thoughts on the Echelon ECH-SPORT-S

Build quality, additional features, interactive sessions, this bike has it all, although it does come at a cost. From reading my points above, it may be obvious, but this is a great bike for those in the market who are looking for a more interactive workout experience. It’s pricey, but offers greater value for money vs other bikes in its category. 

Excellent construction, large interactive screen and multipoint adjustments are the standout features of this bike. If you need that extra push to get you motivated to work out, then this could be the perfect match for you.
