Detailed review of the Roger Black Folding Exercise Bike

Assembly

In terms of complexity, the Roger Black Folding Exercise Bike is one of the more simplistic models to assemble. Nine of the parts like the main bar, pedals and handle bars are already pre-assembled to make life a little bit easier. Most people report it takes about 30 minutes to put together.

One consistent complaint is around the pedals. The Roger Black Folding bike instructions state you must turn clockwise to assemble both pedals, however the left pedal needs to be screwed in anti-clockwise. You can find full instructions HERE. Good Luck!

Storage

This is a big positive here- do your work out then fold away the bike and forget about it! You don’t have to worry about clogging up your room 24/7 with a machine, just simply collapse the bike flat and it can be stored horizontally or vertically. It is also light when moving around.

Dimensions when folded down are H136, W43, D42.5cm.

Display Unit

Simple but effective- it records everything you could need for your home workout. You can track all the below:

Speed (KM/H)
Distance (KM)
Time (Minute: Second)
Calories (Kcal)
Pulse (BPM). Has a hand grip sensor.
or you can SCAN between them all.

Just press the mode button to select what measurement you want to record. And when you’re done, reset and start again!

Performance

With 8 levels of tension to choose from and a 2.5kg flywheel, this heavy duty foldable bike means you can push yourself as hard as you want. The magnetic system allows a smooth and quiet ride, so you don’t have to worry about disturbing anyone when you workout!

How does the Roger Black Folding bike compare to the Roger Black Plus Magnetic Exercise Bike?

The biggest difference with these two bikes is one is upright and one is foldable. But if storage isn’t the main consideration for you, what are the key differences?

They are actually quite similar in terms of specifications- the magnetic system, 8 levels of tension control and display setting choices are standard for the Roger Black Plus Upright Bike and the Folding version- which means for the cheaper price tag, if that’s all you need then you should seriously consider the foldable version.

Some additional extras on the Roger Black Magnetic Plus Exercise Bike includes a water bottle holder, 3.5kg flywheel and adjustable seat and handlebars. The biggest difference is the weight allowance. Max weight is 125kgs compared to 100kgs on the Roger Black Folding Bike- so it is naturally going to feel a little sturdier if you are heavier. Also, the adjustable handlebars means it is likely to be easier for taller people to use. The settings screen also has a SET function which allows you to monitor your own targets which is a nice touch.
