The Lowdown

This well-put-together and sturdy bike offers you a smooth riding experience. It’s not fancy, and as the price reflects, is a budget home exercise bike, but it is a great buy for anyone looking to burn some calories or get into fitness.

First Impressions

When you first unpack this Opti bike, you may think that it looks a bit basic and on the large side. And ultimately, it is! But the upright position and wider handlebars on the bike just add to its’ sturdiness.

Despite its cost-effective price tag, this bike comes with a range of features that will enable a good workout. The seat is height adjustable and the onboard LCD monitor tracks time, speed, distance and calories burned. These features are often associated with more expensive home exercise bikes, but bear in mind the display is quite small, so you may also like to wear your SMART watch too.

When you get on the bike and lean into the handlebars, you really feel that you can peddle for miles. As it is so sturdy, and you have the support of the handlebars, you may even feel confident enough to stand up in the saddle.

Thanks to all of its features, the Opti Magnetic bike is a great way to get a varied workout that has an impact. If you have in the past found it challenging to work out the back of your legs and glutes on an exercise bike, the Opti Magnetic Exercise Bike has a lot to offer. The adjustable saddle makes it easy for you to focus on different muscle groups.

Pros

  • LCD monitor
  • Adjustable pedal straps
  • Hand grip pulse sensor
  • 4 kg flywheel

Cons

  • Self-assembly
  • Maximum user weight 100kg or 15st
  • Batteries needed (2xAAA)

Opti Magnetic Exercise Bike Review:

Set-up:

The bike is delivered directly to your home. At this point, a set-up service is not offered. To be fair, unlike many other exercise bikes, this bike was super easy to set up. It comes with all of the necessary set up instructions.

The best way to set up the bike is to lay all of the pieces out. Read the instructions and do a little practice run in your head. In other words, just make sure that you are comfortable and know where all of the pieces go. And also check you have all the pieces before you start!

Two AAA batteries are required. As they are not supplied with the bike, you want to make sure you buy them before the bike is delivered. Once assembled, you are good to go straight away.
The weight of the bike is 20kg (just over 3 stone) and its dimensions set up are H122 x W49 x D92cm.

Performance When In Use:

A secure riding experience is what you get with the Opti Magnetic Exercise Bike. One of the first things you will notice is how sturdy it feels once you are “on the move.” The ride is smooth and tension levels are easy to manage with the knob underneath the saddles. We tried out the different levels before we started the workout so we could gauge what to use.

The height adjustable seat is comfortable and easy to adjust without the need for special tools.

The 4kg flywheel offers a good level of resistance. It is complemented by the 8 levels of tension control. The LCD console feedback is clearly visible as you cycle. Unfortunately, you can’t store your workout data and there are no programmes to follow.

The hand grip pulse sensor allows you to monitor your heart rate which is another added bonus, although this wasn’t always the most accurate when compared with our watches.
You may notice some feedback from the floor. Of course, it all depends on what kind of floor you have. As with all other exercise bikes, it is a good idea to invest in an underlay to make your riding experience better. Buying one is certainly worth the money.

Also worth mentioning that the saddle isn’t too comfy, so it may be worth adding a gel padding to go over the seat- especially if you’re planning on using the bike regularly.

Features we really liked:

It is hard to believe that this bike only weighs 20kg. When you are peddling away, you get the impression that this is a much more expensive bike.

The taller handlebars are a great touch. They help to enhance and intensify your workout. The foot straps are of good quality..

The LCD display is clear and offers you all of the exercise guidance you need.

Final thoughts on the Opti Magnetic Exercise Bike

This is a great bike for when you would like to keep fit at home. Although it is a budget-friendly bike, it has everything you need to get a sweat on or hit your workout goals.

If you want to get fit at home, but haven’t got lots of money to spend, this Opti bike is a great exercise option. Yes, it’s a budget bike, but as long as you aren’t looking for gym quality, this will help you hit your workout goals- and for under £200, is one of the cheapest upright bikes on the market.
