First impressions of the NordicTrack T 7.5s Treadmill

NordicTrack have built a strong reputation for providing high quality treadmills and the T7.5s is no exception. It’s the cheapest in the popular NordicTrack T Series range, although it will still set you back just shy of £1,500, so it’s not the cheapest on the market by any means.

It is designed to be a commercial quality treadmill, built for at-home use and therefore the higher price tag in comparison to other at-home treadmills is understandable given the high build quality and design.

The T7.5s is all about providing the user comfort, versatility and choice. This is epitomised through the iFit integration, which is really the main selling point of this treadmill.

You will get access to 16,000+ on demand workouts, live interactive training, easy stat tracking, as well as new daily workouts.

The iFit coach-led experiences allow your instructor to digitally adjust your speed and incline, keeping you focused on achieving a calorie-burning, high-energy workout. Interactive workouts is certainly a trend the at-home gym market is moving towards, designed to provide extra motivation and that gym class feel, something I certainly enjoy in my workouts.

In terms of style, build quality and performance features that come with the treadmill, the T7.5s ticks all the boxes and provides a high standard of workout quality.

From the T7.5s FlexSelect cushioning, which softens the impact on your joints, to the powerful motor and even the wide running surface, this treadmill will certainly keep up with you and make your workouts enjoyable.

Overall. The T7.5s is a high-class, well-designed and reliable treadmill. You get what you pay for and despite the quite sizeable price tag, it really is a fantastic at-home treadmill!

NordicTrack T 7.5s Treadmill Review

Product Specifications:

The first thing to note about the NordicTrack T7.5s Treadmill is the substantial size of it.

Weighing in at 96kg it certainly is quite a beast, so keep this in mind when deciding where your treadmill is going to go, as you won’t want to keep moving the treadmill too often.

I would also recommend having two sets of hands when it comes to building the treadmill, as it can be quite bulky and difficult if there’s just one of you.

With this heavy weight, the T7.5s does provide a certain sturdiness and comfort, and helps to provide that gym quality look and feel in your own home, as well as being able to support a max user weight of 125kg.

The assembled dimensions are L187cm x W91cm x H151cm and the treadmill can be folded, which can help with storage if you are limited on space.

Whilst the treadmill is heavy, it does have a SpaceSaver design with EasyLift Assist, which should help you move and fold the treadmill.

Technology:

Like all treadmills in NordicTrack’s T Series range, the T7.5s comes with iFit integration and a 1-year free membership. It will cost extra to renew this subscription each year, so keep this in mind.

With iFit, you get access to over 16,000 on demand workouts, world-class trainers who can take you through live interactive training and new daily workouts.

One way that iFit can work is that you can allow the trainers to control your workouts, meaning that during your workout, the trainer can automatically adjust your speed and incline, so all you have to do is keep running.

iFit also allows you to create up to 4 different user profiles, which is great if a number of you are going to be using the treadmill and want to have independent stat tracking.

The T7.5s also has Google Maps technology built in, which allows you to access different routes from all around the world, so you can run through stunning scenery all from the comfort of your own home.

This is easy to do through the 7-inch HD Display, which allows you can to keep on track of your workout progress and offers all the essential performance feedback, such as time, distance and calories and you can even use the EKG handgrips.

If like me, you prefer to workout whilst listening to music, there are two Bluetooth speakers built into the treadmill, meaning you can easily connect your phone or tablet for some tunes!

Performance:

NordicTrack pride themselves on offering a comfortable workout experience through a treadmill that is built to last.

The T7.5s comes with FlexSelect Cushioning, which softens the impact on your joints and simulates real road running.

There is also a SMART-Response Drive System, which utilises a 3.0 CHP DurX Commercial Plus Motor. This powerful motor reduces vibration and allows you to get a stable and solid workout throughout.

It also comes with an AutoBreeze workout fan, which will keep you cool through intense workouts, although I would have preferred the fan strength to be slightly better- particularly on hotter days.

In terms of performance specifications, there is 0-12% digital incline as well as a max speed of 22 km/h, which puts the T7.5s in the higher range of the market when it comes to max speed and therefore means this treadmill is suitable for a variety of users, from beginners to intermediates and even for more advanced athletes.

Pros

  • iFit integration

  • Wide Tread Belt
  • Google Maps Integration
  • Max speed 22km/h
  • Powerful motor

  • It needs to be a serious decision for the cost

How does the NordicTrack T 7.5s Treadmill compare to the Pro Fitness T2000?

When deciding on what treadmill to buy, it’s important to consider what you want out of your treadmill, as well as establishing your budget and your absolute must haves. We have decided to give you a comparison of treadmills you may not typically place in the same category.

For example, the Pro Fitness T2000 Folding Treadmill is an excellent piece of at home gym equipment, designed to satisfy the beginner to intermediate user at a price that won’t break the bank.

It comes with the all the essential features you could want from a start treadmill such as a wide variety of incline options, decent max speed, a variety of in-built programmes to choose from and an overall comfortable and easy to use workout experience. If you were to choose the T2000, I don’t think you would be disappointed with your purchase.

That being said, the T7.5s offers quite a bit more, which makes working out from home that bit easier and more interesting.

The higher quality build, bulkier frame and wide running surface aid the user when working out and produce an overall more comfortable running experience.

For me though, the iFit connectivity is the real difference maker, so if you aren’t someone who thinks they would benefit from those interactive workout sessions or that gym class style and feel, then I would recommend saving the money and investing in something slightly cheaper.

If you do feel like this is something for you and you think you could really benefit from iFit, then the T7.5s would be a sound proposition.

Final thoughts on the NordicTrack T 7.5s Treadmill

The overall commercial quality grade and feel gives you the reassurance that you are really investing in something of high quality and most importantly, this makes running easier and more enjoyable.

The extra variety the T7.5s gives you over cheaper, more standard treadmills really makes it stand out from the competition and brings that gym look and feel to your own home.

The price tag is certainly on the more expensive side, so it is important to really think about how much use you would get out of this treadmill before deciding to purchase.
